Pileated WoodPecker

I was visited by a huge woodpecker this summer briefly while working in my garden and it reawakened my appreciation for birds. That was reinforced by a recent movie with Jack Black, Steve Martin, and Owen Wilson, THE BIG YEAR. The visual presentation of birds was phenomenal and I am committed to counting birds I see this year! Would love to be able to submerge myself in Audubon's artwork and share this book with loved ones!

Crossing my fingers I'll win this gorgeous prize. I saw some of the original watercolors and one of the double elphant folios at a gallery in Chicago a few years ago and was completely blown away.
