Lear's Owl
We just heard a talk at the Cleveland Museum of Natural History given by Wendy Wasman, CMNH librarian. This would be a welcome addition tohang on our walls with birds, butterflies, and other wildlife.

Lear's Owl
We just heard about this beautiful book at a talk at the Cleveland Museum of Natural History. The speaker, Librarian Wendy Wasman, had a volume to show us. Beautiful! Would love to add this to our pictures of birds, butterflies and other interesting wildlife that hang on our walls.

Our Elusive Owl
There is an elusive owl that frequents our courtyard in the evenings when it is dark outside. We can hear its hoot, but we can never see it. My husband has nicknamed it "Hooter". We don't let our cat, Max, outside at night because we are afraid Hooter will eat Max, not the other way around! I imagine Hooter looking like the owl in Lear's plate.

Owls always remind me of my husband; they're his favourite bird. Minerva's, too...

I am a third grade teacher
I am a third grade teacher who has been teaching my classes about owls for several years. We study different owls and write booklets about them along with dioramas and they make fabric owls. This is after we have gotten up close at a local nature center that does owl presentations and owl pellet dissection. My class would love this in our classroom.

Better than the Internet!
Our children use the internet for all their information gathering. This book would show them that there is another way to "see" & study nature. It is a valuable piece of art!
