Edward Lear

This is exciting! I absolutely love owls and birds in general! I would LOVE To have this book. It would definitely be a huge inspiration for me as I progress in my education for a career with wildlife (and hopefully as an Ornithologist).

Edward Lear print contest

California's San Joaquin Valley. An awe inspiring sight at an age before I knew birds' names was a Great Blue Heron taking flight from a river bed. The flocks of Red Winged Blackbirds I now catch glimpses of and sometimes hear their layered voice. Owls at twilight.

Edward Lear's birds

What a delightful surprise! Lear's poetry is known - his artwork was not. I hope to have the chance to see this book some day!

European Eagle Owl

Thank you Audubon Magazine for capturing the history and mystery surrounding the European Eagle Owl by Edward Lear for John Gould and for all birds of prey enthuses by David Attenborough. What an impressive collection this will be.

I was mesmerized by Edward

I was mesmerized by Edward Lear's books when I was 11 years old and in grade 6. I scoured the library at school for anything he created. The pictures and written words still hold a special place in my heart, 41 years later! What a pleasure to see Lear's representation of a rather quizzical looking owl. They are such magnificent birds - ones to be admired and respected.
