With my binoculars staged near the door always at the ready, the two of us bound happily into wilderness areas on the lookout for the new and interesting, savoring the familiar and observing the subtle changes of the landscapes with time.

Hawks and other high-flying creatures

My daughter has significant learning disabilities, so the classroom is often a frustrating experience for her.
But the view out toward the Hudson River from our old New York City apartment has been a wonderful school for her: her "friends", pairs red--tailed hawks for the most part, glide and circle and swoop and she has no difficulty at all on remembering every detail of specific birds she's seen or identifying their calls. Her knowledge and love of birds, raptors and others has sustained her through many a discouraging class.t

Name of bird

my husband and I took a swamp tour recently and the guide pointed out a bird he called a yellow crested mayhern....is this the correct spelling?

Amateur Birder

I would love more than anything to win this book. I hear how easy it is to learn the raptors however I have yet to catch on and would love to have a book to learn more not only to identify them but to learn more about them! My dream is to become a vet specializing in exotics especially avian medicine. I'm a dedicated volunteer and just find birds so fascinating and just want to do more since there is so much we still don't know about them let alone how to treat them properly! I really really hope I can win a copy.
